Equipment

  • 1 Slow Cooker Or Large Soup Pot
  • 1 Fine Mesh Strainer
  • 1 Large Bowl

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs Chicken breasts, wings, or thighs Or one whole chicken
  • 2-3 stalks Celery
  • 2-3 Carrots
  • 1 Large onion halved and rinsed
  • 3-4 Garlic cloves rinsed
  • 2-3 Bay leaves
  • 2 sprigs Fresh thyme or 1 tbsp ground thyme

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a slow-cooker or a large soup pot.
  • Fill with water until everything is covered.
  • Cook on low for 10-16 hours if using a slow-cooker or 3-4 hours on the stove, simmering.
  • No babysitting required! It’s that easy.
  • When finished cooking, remove the large pieces of chicken bones.
  • Use a fine mesh strainer to slowly pour the broth into a bowl. Be careful, slow and steady.
