Brown Sugar Crust
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup Butter unsalted & room temperature
- 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar
Apple Filling
- 4 cups Honeycrisp Apples (about 4 medium sized apples) Granny Smith or Gala apples work great too
- 2 tbsp Butter unsalted
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice about half a lemon
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
Brown Sugar Pecan Crumble
- 2/3 cup Pecans
- 1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tbsp Butter unsalted & room temperature
Brown Sugar Crust
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients using fork or hands until a crumble dough forms (you can also use a food processor, but I find my hands work better).
Grease a pie pan.
Pour crumbles into pie pan and shape dough into pan. I recommend sprinkling flour onto the dough and your fingers to help shape the dough correctly.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Apple Filling
Slice 4 cups of apples thinly.
Melt butter on medium heat, add apples and cook until tender stirring occasionally (about 12 minutes).
Add 2 tbsp lemon juice and 1/4 cup sugar. Cook for 3 minutes.
Fill pie crust with apple filling and set aside.
Brown Sugar Pecan Crumble
Roughly chop pecan halves.
Mix chopped pecans, brown sugar, butter, and flour in a small bowl.
Pour mixture over apple filling.
Bake pie for 25-30 minutes until topping is golden brown.
Let cool for at least an hour.
